Privacy Policy
How The Stubby Hut handles your personal information.
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or contact us, what we do with it, and the rights you have under Australian privacy law.
The Stubby Hut is a small business based in Hope Island, Queensland. We take privacy seriously and only collect what we genuinely need to respond to enquiries and fulfil orders.

What we collect
When you use the quote form on this site, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The category of order you're interested in (e.g. wedding, corporate, photo cooler)
- The details you write in the message field — quantities, dates, ideas, anything you choose to include
- Your delivery postcode, if you choose to give it — used only to check delivery times to your area
- Any artwork or photos you choose to attach
We also collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (see third parties below). This includes page views, referral sources, general location (city level), device type, and — through Clarity — a recording of how you moved, clicked and scrolled through the page. It doesn't include your name, email, or anything you typed into the form.
Third parties involved
To make the website work, several third-party services are used:
Formspree (form processing)
The quote form is processed by Formspree, a US-based service. When you submit the form, your name, email, message, and any attachment are sent through Formspree's servers and forwarded to our inbox. Formspree may retain the submission in their dashboard for our records. Their privacy policy applies to that processing.
Google Tag Manager & Google Analytics
This site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are popular, where traffic comes from, and how people navigate. GA4 collects anonymous usage data and sets cookies in your browser. No personally identifying information from the quote form is passed to Google Analytics. You can opt out of GA4 data collection using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Microsoft Clarity (session analytics)
This site uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how people actually use the site — which parts of a page get read, where visitors get stuck, and where the quote form is causing trouble. Clarity records a playback of your visit: mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and how the page rendered. It does not record your keystrokes, and text you type into form fields is masked by default, so the contents of the quote form are not captured.
Clarity sets cookies to recognise a returning browser and to join multiple page views into one session: _clck and _clsk (set by this site), and MUID, CLID, SM, MR and ANONCHK (set by Microsoft, which also uses some of these for advertising and analytics across Microsoft services). Clarity keeps this data for 30 days, after which it is no longer available to us. Microsoft is the data controller for it and stores it on Microsoft Azure. You can opt out of Clarity across all sites that use it via the Microsoft opt-out page. Clarity honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, but does not respond to the older browser "Do Not Track" setting.
Google Ads
The Google Tag Manager container currently loads Google's advertising tags, which set advertising cookies in your browser through google.com and doubleclick.net. These are used to measure whether a visit came from a Google ad. You can control how Google personalises advertising to you at My Ad Center.
Fonts
Fonts are served directly from this website. Earlier versions of this site loaded them from Google Fonts, which meant Google received your IP address on every page view — that no longer happens.
How we use your information
We use what you send us only to:
- Reply to your enquiry
- Prepare a proof, quote, and (if you go ahead) fulfil your order
- Keep a record of past orders so we can help with re-orders or follow-up questions
We don't sell your information, and we don't hand your name, email or enquiry details to anyone else for their marketing. The analytics and advertising services listed above do receive anonymous usage data about your visit, on their own terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails and order records are kept for as long as is reasonably useful for that customer relationship — typically a few years for past orders, in case you come back for a re-order or warranty question. If you'd like your records removed, just email us.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask us to delete your information
- Lodge a complaint with us, and if you're not satisfied, with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
Email sales@stubbyhut.com.au for any of the above.
